Description:
Veterans – Have you ever wanted to create your own hand-crafted mug? How about a wheel-thrown dinner plate? Now is your chance to explore the limitless possibilities of clay and creativity in this class, The Way of Clay. All levels are welcome and no experience is necessary in this free class for Veterans. During the five-week studio class, students will learn introductory clay techniques through instructional demonstrations and guided projects. Beginning students will learn hand-build, pinch, coil, slab and other techniques such as wheel-thrown pottery. Intermediate and advanced students will focus on technique and expanding their clay expertise. All students are welcome to join in on hand-building projects as well as projects on the wheel, and everyone will have the opportunity to practice surface decoration and glazing. Emphasis for all students is on technique, exploring your creative boundaries, and making artworks that are a delight to keep!
The Way of Clay is free for Veterans.
